Today was not the day I wanted it to be.
Chat,
Today was not the day I wanted it to be. I woke up pretty early (which is an accomplishment itself) and felt energized. I tried to use that energy to push myself through some work stuff but had no luck. I didn’t get anything I wanted to get done. That’s when the day started to go downhill. I started to feel that familiar emptiness fill my stomach.
After my failed attempt at work, I felt lost. I didn’t know how else to spend the day. Days get so long once you start counting the hours. My failed attempt at work started and ended in the mid-morning which left the rest of my day painfully free. I tried to make some progress on one of my many goals but I had no more energy or drive to dedicate to them. I also felt defeated and unconfident that I could do anything successfully after failing at first and only task of the day.
The one goal I really wanted to start working on was my “write a book” goal but I couldn’t find the energy to start it. The day is coming to a close and I’m disappointed in myself for not getting anything done either personally or professionally.
To make up for the disappointment of today, I’m setting a goal for this upcoming week. I will get my work stuff done and write at least 1,000 words of my book. I’m also going to try to give myself some grace. I need to be more gentle with myself. I beat myself up today and that didn’t help me get anything done. If anything, my self-criticism ensured that I would get nothing done. In order to meet my goals, I need to be physically and mentally whole. Maybe, if I’m nicer to myself this week, I actually will get my weekly goals done. I’m going to manifest that I complete my goals and speak more kindly to myself this week.
